- Set of traditional Tibetan ritual items necessary for performing the Ngondro sadhanas, the preliminary practices for the Vajrayana and Mahayana paths of Tibetan Buddhism. Includes an offering mandala, set of 7 water offering bowls, yak bone prayer rosary w/ mala counters, Kalachakra Om Mani Padme Hum mala bag, & visualization cards.
- In this kit is included items for all 4 stages of the Ngondro sadhana – 1) taking refuge; 2) 100,000 recitations of the Vajrasattva purification mantra w/ visualization; 3) 100,000 mandala offerings; and 4)100,000 Guru Yoga practices.
- The water offering bowls are filled in the morning and emptied at night as a daily practice for invoking the blessings of the Buddhas & as a way of opening and closing the altar. Use the Refuge Tree visualization card for making clear visualizations while performing prostrations for the first stage of the Ngondro sadhana, Taking Refuge. Also included is a Guru Rinpoche visualization card for the fourth stage, Guru Yoga.
- Use the Vajrasattva visualization card in conjunction with the yak bone mala w/ counters to recite and count the Vajrasattva purification mantra while performing the proper visualizations. When not in use, the yak bone mala rosary can be stored in the Kalachakra Om Mani mala bag. Malas made from bone are recommended for mantras of purification.
- The offering mandala is filled with rice while chanting the traditional mantras & performing the visualizations as instructed in the Ngondro sadhana. Performing the mandala offering purifies attachment & helps to eliminate self-clinging and ego fixation.
